Privacy policy

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read rather than skimmed past.

What we collect

Things stored on your own device

Your cart is stored in your browser's local storage under the key moddose.cart.v1. It never leaves your device unless you check out, and clearing your browser data removes it. It contains product slugs, quantities and whether you chose a one-time or subscription purchase. It contains nothing that identifies you.

Things you give us

• Email address, if you sign up for updates or ask to be notified when checkout opens.
• Order and delivery details — name, delivery address, email, phone if you provide one — when you place an order.
• Correspondence, if you email us.

Payment information

We do not collect, process or store card details. When checkout is live, payments will be handled entirely by a PCI-compliant payment provider, and we will receive only a confirmation and the last four digits of the card for support purposes.

Analytics

This site currently runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party trackers. If that changes, this section will change with it before the tracking goes live, not after.

Why we collect it

• To fulfil your order and handle returns — necessary to perform our contract with you.
• To send order and shipping notifications — the same basis.
• To send marketing email — only with your consent, withdrawable in one click from any email.
• To meet tax and accounting obligations — a legal requirement.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Who else sees it

Only processors we need to run the business: our payment provider, our shipping carrier, our email provider, and our hosting provider. Each receives the minimum needed to do its job and is bound to use it only for that purpose.

How long we keep it

• Order records: seven years, because tax law requires it.
• Marketing email addresses: until you unsubscribe, then deleted from the active list.
• Support correspondence: two years.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to marketing. Email hello@moddose.com and we will action it within 30 days. We will not make you fill in a form or explain why.

Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. You are welcome to do that, though we would rather you gave us the chance to fix it first.

Children

This store is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from under-18s. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top and, for anything that affects how your data is used, email subscribers directly.
