Mushrooms for the Brain
Welcome to Moddose; we are on a mission to motivate as many people as possible, with the idea that you are as young as you want to be.
I thought there were only two types of mushrooms, the ones you eat and the ones that get you high.
But there is a third category, the ones that are good for your brain. Wait, wouldn’t Lion’s Mane fit into the first category, making only two?
I think that’s better, mushrooms you eat for health and mushrooms you ingest to get high!
Introducing Lion’s Mane.
What is Lion’s Mane?
Before we get into that, let’s talk about why we should consider adding Lion’s Mane. to our supplement list!
Unlike any other mushroom lion’s Mane has astounding mental regenerative abilities, making it a potent nootropic.
Other important benefits include
Stimulate the growth of neurons, Nerve Growth Factors (NGF),
It helps repair the brain from physical damage,
It helps prevent & slow age-related mental degradation,
Has mood-regulating effects from the NGF and other non-NGF factors,
Has been shown to increase ‘‘Curiosity’’ of objects in the world in animal studies.
Ok, so they are some pretty bold claims, and for credibility, I have listed the links to the proof and the end of this post.
Lion’s Mane, botanically known as Hericium Erinaceus, is a mushroom that grows on hardwoods in North America, Asia, and Europe.
It’s called lion’s Mane, because of the way it looks. And sorry, but there is no prize for guessing who found it.
Like most great natural supplements, it was the masters of the herbal plants, the Chinese!
Who needs Lion’s Mane?
For starters, there are many nootropics available to improve your mental fitness, like Modafinil and Alpha Brain.
But many of us like to stick to 100% natural products, like Lion’s Mane. And therein lies the main benefit of Lion’s Mane, its mental regenerative abilities.
This is my personal opinion based on the research I have completed. Suppose you’re looking for short gains in mental cognition like studying for exams etc. I would suggest Modafinil and Alpha Brain.
But if you’re looking for a supplement to prevent cognitive decline as we age, then Lion’s Mane is the one!
How to take Lion’s Mane
For the best results, 1/2 a teaspoon every day is the way to go! I add Lion’s Mane into my morning smoothy, along with the other powered supplements I take.
But for a quick on-the-go way, add Lion’s Mane to a small tub of yogurt.
